Spring 2024 Baseball Divisions

Cal Ripken Baseball - Ages 4-12

Division Birthdate Range Description
T-Ball 4-5 years (5/1/18 to 4/30/20) The primary goal of T-Ball is to begin to instruct young players in the fundamentals of baseball (hitting and fielding) in a supportive team environment. Athletes will bat through the lineup from a batting tee, which is height-adjusted for a level swing.
Rookie 6-7 years (5/1/16 to 4/30/18) This division makes use of coach pitching to allow for more hittable balls at the plate and more action in the field. Fear of being hit by a pitched ball is diminished. It makes the game safer and improves the playing confidence and ability of all participants.
Minor 8 8 years (5/1/15 to 4/30/16) Ballplayers will continue to build on the skills learned in Rookie league. Players will begin to pitch with coaches stepping in to keep the game moving when needed.
Minor 9-10 years (5/1/13 to 4/30/15) Players build and refine their fundamental skills while beginning to understand game strategy and teamwork
Major 50/70 11-12 years 5/1/11 to 4/30/13 Athletes will play on fields featuring a 50' pitching distance and 70' base paths.
